This place has a fun vibe and the food is delicious! The hot dogs seem to be real beef franks with thick slice toasted bread split down the side as well as the frank is split. The kraut is really good! Beer battered fries is worth getting as well! Then I got the Rustic Apple Tart with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. The service is really good and this place gets packed!
Great local pub serving hot dogs, burgers and other grille faire. Been here a few times now when driving through Parkersburg. Love stopping at local restaurants. Very clean and great food. On this particular day which was a Friday during Lent we couldn't have meat and still found decent amount of selections to choose from. I had a grilled cheese and potato soup- both very good. I have had the hotdogs during past visits and they are very good. Great place to stop with decent prices. Nice variety on the menu to choice from. We will be back.
This place is amazing! One of the owners stopped by our table and talked. He was cleaning and serving, very active in the business. All the employees were pleasant. A very friendly environment. And the food was Amazing! Just like grandma cooked. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich and fried mushrooms. I had the super dog and cole slaw. Everything was fresh and delicious! We also had a cup of the potatoe soup. It had a hint of New England clam chowder base/taste. We will be back and I strongly suggest this place!
Where do I start…local antique store recommendation when we asked about great local lunch place. Der Dog Haus did not disappoint. The parking lot is always a good indication and it was packed on a Wednesday afternoon. Unbelievably friendly staff and customers. We felt like regulars. Great meal, generous portions. Even gave me a sample of the lunch special to help me decide. We will go out of our way to stop again.
My grandkids and I travelled from Lewisburg to Parkersburg for a softball tournament and after checking into the hotel needed somewhere to eat dinner. We found Der Dog House and my twin 7 year olds and I decided to have dinner there. We were very pleased that we did. The staff welcomed us immediately even though they were very busy. We were seated right away and the waitress took our order within 5 minutes. Ten minutes later we had our food and it was delicious. Three other employees stopped to make sure we were happy with our meals and even customers spoke to us on their way out. The food was great, the service fantastic and we left wishing that we didn’t have to travel 3 hours to return. But if ever in that area again we will certainly be back. I wish we could give them more than 5 stars! They deserve it! No wonder they were busy. The locals know how great they are!!
Ordered the hot dog with some veg & waffle fries. Dessert was a chocolate chip cake. Food was great - hot dog had a nice snap & cake was moist. Great prices, friendly service & management staff. A no frills diner that I would add to my regular rotation if I was a local.
A bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. Excellent food and good service. We enjoyed watching the Army 250th parade while we enjoyed dinner. Good portions for the price.
Love this place. Best hot dogs in town. Love the breaded mushrooms. Wonderful variety, with daily specials. Friendly staff, makes for a great experience. Highly recommend if you haven't tried, suggest you do!
